After losing to the Pleasanton Blu-Jays the last time they met, the Northeast Vikings decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Northeast had just enough and edged Pleasanton out 41-38.
When it comes to explaining why Pleasanton lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Tony Gillespie. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The game was Gillespie's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Davis, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Pleasanton, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Northeast will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Southeast on January 5th. Southeast comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Pleasanton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jayhawk Linn at 5:00 p.m.
