Softball Recap: Westmont Hilltop Has No Trouble Against Bishop Carroll

Westmont Hilltop got themselves on the board against Bishop Carroll on Thursday, but Bishop Carroll never followed suit. They blew past the Huskies 16-0. The win continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won five in a row.

Addy Dunbar made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dunbar was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Liz Veranese was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Lamya Stevens was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Westmont Hilltop's record now sits at 2-0. As for Bishop Carroll, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmont Hilltop will face off against Greater Johnstown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Carroll, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bald Eagle Area at 4:30 p.m. on April 11.
