Currituck County and Holmes are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Knights will host the Aces at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holmes took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Currituck County, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Currituck County needed a bit of extra time to put away Camden County. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins, sneaking past 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Mason Beliles and Dom Doran were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Beliles tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Doran kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Beliles went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run, while Doran went 2-for-6 with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Holmes unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against First Flight on Monday, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Aces have suffered since April 10, 2025.
Like Currituck County, Holmes also got a great game from a two-way player: Robbie Wright. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wright was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Fisher Bobbitt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
