Gowanda is a perfect 10-0 against Brocton since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Gowanda is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Gowanda took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Pine Valley Central get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Gowanda hasn't had any issues with Pine Valley Central recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Addison Kota was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, firing off three home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenna Luther, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Alayna Fish was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Gowanda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Brocton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-3 to Silver Creek.
Zoe Spiller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Paige Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Brocton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gowanda, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Brocton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gowanda has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Brocton, though, as they've been averaging 13.3 hits. Given Gowanda's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Gowanda took their win against Brocton when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
