Softball Game Preview: Norview Pilots vs. King's Fork Bulldogs

The Norview Pilots will head out to square off against the King's Fork Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Norview will be strutting in after a win while King's Fork will be coming in after a defeat.

Norview will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Lake Taylor on Tuesday. The Pilots' pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Pilots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Hailee Brickhouse and Valerie Miranda were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Brickhouse kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Miranda tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Brickhouse got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Miranda went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Miranda has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Norview got a massive performance out of Brenna Foster, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Reannah Sanders, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs.

Norview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .789. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, King's Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Hickory.

King's Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Norview, their record is now 2-6.

Norview might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from King's Fork in their previous meeting on April 2nd. Can the Pilots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
