After a string of three wins, the Lakeside Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Lake Hamilton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lakeside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Rogers, who scored 32 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Williams, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Lakeside's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for Lake Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Lakeside will challenge Sheridan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Sheridan likes a good challenge. As for Lake Hamilton, they will be playing at home against Vilonia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vilonia will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Lake Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight.
