The Karns Beavers were the 50-28 winner over the Clinton Dragons when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Karns was outmatched by Clinton on the road and fell 48-18. While losing is never fun, Karns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Clinton is ranked 104th).
Although Karns took the loss, they still got scores from Kareem Ellis, Alex Idol, and Frank Niyonyishu.
Leading Clinton to victory were Joshuah Keith and Jawan Goins. Keith threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Goins gained 118 total yards and three touchdowns. Bryson Maddox was another key contributor, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Karns are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for Clinton, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Karns will take on Lenoir City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lenoir City is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Clinton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Heritage at 7:30 p.m.
