The Lakeside Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight defeat. They took a hard 52-34 fall against Conneaut. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lakeside in their matchups with Conneaut: they've now lost three in a row.
Conneaut's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayla Farley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Kiser, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Lakeside's defeat was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Conneaut, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside is on the road again on Thursday and plays Pymatuning Valley at 6:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Conneaut, they will challenge Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Conneaut focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
