Ridgevue has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Skyview Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ridgevue knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Skyview likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Ridgevue was able to grind out a solid victory over Columbia, taking the game 62-49. Given Ridgevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Columbia is ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ridgevue's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javonte Boles, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dawson Phillips, who scored 13 points.
Skyview suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 87-31 loss at the hands of Bishop Kelly. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skyview has scored all season.
Ridgevue is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Skyview, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6.
Ridgevue skirted past Skyview 67-65 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgevue since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
