Basketball Recap: Central Cabarrus Falls Despite Big Games from Duron Vaughn and Parker Watkins

The Central Cabarrus Vikings came up short against the Hopewell Titans on Tuesday and fell 75-63. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central Cabarrus' loss came despite strong showings from Parker Watkins and Duron Vaughn. Watkins went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points and four steals, while Vaughn shot 67% from the field en route to 18 points. Watkins' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Watkins, who posted nine points.

Central Cabarrus now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hopewell, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Central Cabarrus will take on Dorman at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hopewell, they will challenge J.H. Rose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
