Basketball Game Preview: Northampton County Jaguars vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans

Northampton County has gone 8-2 against Southeast Halifax recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Northampton County Jaguars will square off against the Southeast Halifax Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Northampton County is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Northampton County can't be too worried about heading out to take on Southeast Halifax: they just beat Warren County at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Northampton County came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren County on Tuesday, sneaking past 46-43.

Jiyoun Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 17 points along with seven boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Jereminah Gholson was another key player, scoring nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Southeast Halifax was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 75-70 to Northwest Halifax. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Northampton County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Southeast Halifax, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Northampton County beat Southeast Halifax 68-61 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Southeast Halifax's Clinton Mills Jr., who went 9 for 12 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
