Independence have to be hurting after a devastating 6-34 loss at the hands of Sumner last Friday.
Meanwhile, if Amite were riding high off their 41-6 takedown of Loranger two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Amite fell to North Delta 0-14. Amite are ranked 47th in the state (210 spots ahead of North Delta), so the defeat was all the more frustrating.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
