The Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 35-34 to Providence Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Methodist Children's Home in their matchups with Providence Prep: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Methodist Children's Home saw an underclassman step up: Londen Bickham scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Bickham hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Williams, who scored five points along with two steals.
Maddox Billman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Providence Prep, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Billman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Morrison, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Methodist Children's Home's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Providence Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Methodist Children's Home will stay at home for another game and welcome Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago. As for Providence Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary's at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
