Basketball Recap: Micah Whing Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Countryside Christian

There's no place like home for Cornerstone Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They secured a 49-43 W over the Countryside Christian Minutemen on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-24 on January 9th.

Cornerstone Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Whing, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 17 points gave Whing a new career-high. Jared Owens was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Cornerstone Academy's record is now 6-8. As for Countryside Christian, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Cornerstone Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-31 loss against Meadowbrook Academy on the 27th. As for Countryside Christian, they will face off against Redeemer Christian on February 3rd.
