Meanwhile, Burns Flat-Dill City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-0 to Sentinel.
Burns Flat-Dill City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Kemp, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Burns Flat-Dill City's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cordell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cordell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .532. However, it's not like Burns Flat-Dill City struggles in that department as they've averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
