The Riesel Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. The match between Riesel and Hubbard wasn't particularly close, with Riesel falling 51-36. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riesel in their matchups with Hubbard: they've now lost three in a row.
Riesel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trent Hickerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Hickerson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Hawkins, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Riesel bumped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hubbard, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Riesel will be playing in front of their home fans against Marlin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hubbard, they will head out on the road to square off against Dawson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
