Football Game Preview: Liberty Red Devils vs. Clinton Red Devils + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Liberty will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty has given up an average of 28.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Liberty is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Crescent just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 34-27 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-0 victory over Union County. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Devils had established a 47-point advantage.

Clinton's win came from a few key players Liberty will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was KJ Vance, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. Javen Cook also helped with two scores in total.

Clinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 219 rushing yards in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Clinton, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Kendall Jackson and Cook. Jackson just won't slow down this season and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 64 rushing yards per game. Cook has been a dominant force too and has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 106 rushing yards per game.

Liberty suffered a grim 42-22 defeat to Clinton in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
