Taft School is 2-8 against Avon Old Farms since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Big Red will face off against the Beavers at 2:30 p.m. Taft School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

The Big Red were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Wild Boars on Wednesday. Considering the Big Red have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian Barbuto was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Barbuto was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Parker Woods was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Noah Jettelson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Taft School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Avon Old Farms had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Bearcats.
Avon Old Farms' record is now 5-1. As for Taft School, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
