Putnam County extended their road winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jmari Greene. The Putnam County War Eagles were the clear victor by a 92-67 margin over the Lamar County Trojans on Tuesday thanks in part to Greene, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 22 points along with eight steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.
The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Mcclendon, who went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points and seven boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Lamar County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Jasper County the next time they take the court. Lamar County will host Jasper County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Putnam County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
