Cole Dryden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bronson Corpus, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miles Lemkuhl, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Walton-Verona lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owen County didn't launched any.
Covington Catholic let Simon Kenton stack eight runs on them in the fourth inning on Tuesday but luckily Covington Catholic prevailed anyway. The Colonels skirted past the Pioneers 16-14.
Covington Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 17-13. As for Walton-Verona, their win bumped their record up to 20-12.
