Football Recap: Mendon Skates Past Athens with Ease

Mendon strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-0 win over the Athens Indians. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won three contests by 30 points or more so far this season.

Mendon had a senior duo take command as Owen Gorham gained 123 total yards and two touchdowns and Ryder Gorham threw for 146 yards and four touchdowns. Ryder also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles.

Mendon's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Conner Doehring was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Mendon's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Athens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
