The Cross Trojans can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against St. John as Cross made off with a 58-36 victory. The win was nothing new for Cross as they're now sitting on four straight.
St. John's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaniya Smith, who scored 14 points along with six assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Daeshia Buford, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Cross' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for St. John's, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Cross will look to defend their home court on Monday against Military Magnet Academy at 6:30 p.m. Military Magnet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Cross likes a good challenge. As for St. John's, they will head out on the road to challenge Lowcountry Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lowcountry Leadership is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
