Even though the Williamsport Wildcats scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, the Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs still came out on top. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech managed a 67-61 win over Williamsport. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Mergenthaler Vo-Tech has managed all season.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Kriner, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The game was Kriner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ceonta Wilmore, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Williamsport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's road trip will continue as they head out to face Overlea at 10:00 a.m. on January 6, 2024. Williamsport won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against GVCS Broadfording at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully GVCS Broadfording focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
