In what's become a running theme this season, Fruita Monument gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grand Junction 57-17 on the road. Given Fruita Monument's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Tigers are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fruita Monument's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Olivia Campbell, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Addison Eyre, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Mason, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central had just enough and edged the Red Hawks out 46-43 on Tuesday.
Fruita Monument is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Grand Junction Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Fruita Monument didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Warriors when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory.
