After three games on the road, Greenbrier West is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Trinity Christian Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Greenbrier West was fully in charge, breezing past Meadow Bridge 88-38 on the road. The victory was just what Greenbrier West needed coming off of a 66-42 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Notre Dame by a score of 70-61. The win was all the more spectacular given Trinity Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Notre Dame is ranked 70th).
Greenbrier West's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Trinity Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Greenbrier West came up short against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, falling 52-48. Can Greenbrier West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
