The Silver Bluff Bulldogs waltzed into their contest Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Central on the road to the tune of 62-23. The result was nothing new for Silver Bluff, who have now won five contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Bluff to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ahminah Taylor, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and seven steals. That's the first time this season that Taylor posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Krystal Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Central's loss came despite strong showings from Kabreyia Covington and Jordyn Griffin. Covington scored ten points along with seven rebounds, while Griffin scored three points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Silver Bluff's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Silver Bluff won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chesterfield at 5:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Chesterfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Silver Bluff is ranked 23rd). Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Forest Hills at 2:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Hopefully Forest Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
