It was a good run, but the Christ the King Crusaders unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Community School of Davidson by a score of 38-35. Christ the King has not had much luck with Community School of Davidson recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Audrey Gorman, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Gorman hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Peirce, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Community School of Davidson had a senior duo take command as Tyler Baughan scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds and Molly Feighery dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Baughan is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Scarlett Soares was another key contributor, scoring two points along with three steals.
Christ the King's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8. As for Community School of Davidson, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ the King will take on Greater Cabarrus S at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Christ the King focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. As for Community School of Davidson, they will be playing at home against Langtree Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Community School of Davidson is facing Langtree Charter at the right time seeing as Langtree Charter is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
