The University Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Fairfax at home by a decisive 56-38 margin. University was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fairfax apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
University's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nasir Ledwith, who scored seven points. Payton Graue was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
University has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Fairfax, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-20.
University will square off against Westchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Westchester presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University in California (Westchester is ranked 250th, while University is ranked 889th). As for Fairfax, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Venice at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
