Moss Point's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alejandro Montalvo led the charge by scoring 11 points along with three steals. Montalvo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quey'sean Taylor, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Moss Point's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Poplarville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-24.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moss Point will take on Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bay is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Poplarville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greene County at 7:30 p.m.
