Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waynesville). Their defense stepped up to hand the Carlisle Indians a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Waynesville needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Waynesville's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-9-1. As for Carlisle, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesville will face off against Carroll at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carlisle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Carlisle will be up against Franklin's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
