Upper Scioto Valley is a perfect 3-0 against North Baltimore since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will head out to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Upper Scioto Valley took their contest with ease, bagging a 46-6 win over Hardin Northern. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-6.
Ryan Roberts had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 111 yards and two scores on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Upper Scioto Valley's run defense was locked in: Hardin Northern could only muster three yards per carry. The team can thank Roberts for the heroic effort on defense: he. Upper Scioto Valley didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.1.
Meanwhile, North Baltimore strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Crestline to the tune of 63-20. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tigers just coasted through the last quarter.
North Baltimore's win came from a few key players Upper Scioto Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brody Walter, who rushed for 110 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Zander South, who gained 151 total yards and three touchdowns.
North Baltimore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Walter. North Baltimore received some extra help from Trevor Walter, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Upper Scioto Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for North Baltimore, their record now sits at 9-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Upper Scioto Valley has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 166.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Baltimore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 249 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Upper Scioto Valley took their victory against North Baltimore in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 36-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
