4A Pikes Peak recap November 5, 2013
Pine Creek extended the longest winning streak in 4A Pikes Peak this week by beating Rampart, 48-24. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
The Rams fell to Pine Creek 48-24 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cameron Hacker was a bright spot for Rampart, as he threw for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss.
Elway Tubbs threw for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 20-38 with 1 interception.
Kevin Flanegin was a key player and the best on defense this week as JJ Owens' team lost to Todd Miller's team. The 6-foot-1 defensive back nabbed 1 interception.
Kalen Ballage was the best running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 166 yards as Falcon lost to the Eagles. Teammate Wyatt Aaberg added to the ground attack by rushing for 40 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Hacker. The Rampart star has 53 catches for 851 yards.
Daniel Quin has rushed for 912 yards on 162 carries so far this year.
The Falcons and Vista Ridge played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Falcons eventually emerging with a 29-28 victory. Ballage ran for 166 yards and caught 2 passes for 20 yards in the win.
