The Omaha Westside Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marian. Omaha Westside was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kimora Jenkins, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Pederson, who scored five points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Even though they lost, Omaha Westside were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian only racked up three assists.
Elsa Vedral was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds for Marian. Paige Miller was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Omaha Westside dropped their record down to 11-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Marian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.
Omaha Westside will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Southeast is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Marian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lynx at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 134th in Iowa, while the Crusaders are ranked 37th in Nebraska).
