Sierra Cress made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Rachel Weaver was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Kashdan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Minerva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrollton only posted an OBP of .259.
Meanwhile, Beaver Local waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-4. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Beaver Local got a massive performance out of Brenna Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Brylee Curtis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Beaver Local pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Minerva, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-9.
Minerva came up short against Beaver Local when the teams last played back in March, falling 10-7. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
