The Jacksboro Tigers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Henrietta Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jacksboro and five for Henrietta.
Jacksboro pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-56 bruising from Iowa Park. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jacksboro in their matchups with Iowa Park: they've now lost three in a row.
Jacksboro's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Jonas, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Luke Sams who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jonas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Valenzuela, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Henrietta came up short against Iowa Park on Friday and fell 62-54.
Jacksboro's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Henrietta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Jacksboro was able to grind out a solid win over Henrietta in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 49-42. Will Jacksboro repeat their success, or does Henrietta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
