If the Ninety Six Wildcats were feeling good off their 55-17 takedown of the Ware Shoals Hornets on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ninety Six fell just short of Emerald by a score of 38-36. Ninety Six lost against Emerald in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 36-34 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Ninety Six lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Janiyah Squire. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Squire's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Gabby Hart was another key contributor, scoring a points along with seven steals.
Emerald was led to victory by Jurnee Williams and Ti'yonia Tennant. Williams scored nine points along with three steals, while Tennant scored two points along with 11 rebounds. Tennant is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Ninety Six will play host again and welcome Thornwell, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Emerald's road trip will continue as they head out to face Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Strom Thurmond is ranked 134th, while Emerald is ranked 155th).
