Corona del Sol and Basha are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Aztecs will host the Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Corona del Sol sitting on three straight wins and Basha on four.
Last Thursday, Corona del Sol made easy work of Millennium and carried off a 16-6 victory.

Corona del Sol let Jami Sheehan and Ellison Locke run wild. Sheehan scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Locke went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Sheehan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miquela Tammaro, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
Corona del Sol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Basha got the win against Tolleson on Friday by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Josie Karpenski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Vaeh Luna was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace McNulty, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Basha's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Corona del Sol, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Corona del Sol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Basha struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Corona del Sol suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Basha in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Aztecs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
