D2 District 8 (8 Man) recap October 1, 2013
Wallace added to the longest winning streak in D2 District 8 (8 Man) this week by beating Hayes Center, 46-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Wallace took down the Cardinals 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. John Marquardt threw for 92 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 56 yards during the win.
Chase Barthel provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Medicine Valley bested Brady.
Levi Destefano made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles lost to the Raiders. The 6-foot-3 junior racked up 2.0 sacks.
He went 5-8 with 0 interception.
Troy Lusk was the best receiver in the league this week as Brady fell to Medicine Valley. Lusk tallied 3 receptions for 80 yards. Jon Taullie helped Brady's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 11 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Hitchcock County's Alex Whipps and Austin Blume have proven to be a lethal combination. Whipps has thrown for 733 yards this season, while Blume has 20 catches for 432 yards. Tristan Johnson from Hayes Center leads the league in rushing with 754 yards.
