The Rock Creek Academy Lions lost against the Providence Pioneers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Rock Creek Academy took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Providence. Rock Creek Academy has struggled against Providence recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Rock Creek Academy still got an impressive performance from Nevaeh McWilliams, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Chloe Carter, who scored ten points.
Providence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Smith, who scored 19 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Jayda Kempf was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two blocks.
Rock Creek Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Providence, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Rock Creek Academy will take on South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence, they will head out on the road to face off against Shawe Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
