It was a good run, but the Centerville Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt a 71-30 loss at the hands of Richmond. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Centerville has scored all season.
Centerville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Trevor Thornburg, who scored 12 points, and Shea Hollendonner who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Carpenter, who scored 18 points. Carpenter's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Cedric Horton, who scored 17 points.
Centerville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.
Centerville will head out on the road to face off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Union County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Richmond, they will be playing at home against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Richmond is ranked 24th).
