The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Cobleskill-Richmondville nor Schoharie made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Brody Becker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Cobleskill-Richmondville got a massive performance out of Matt Gunzinger, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Gunzinger has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Rotman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cobleskill-Richmondville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Schoharie only posted an OBP of .111.
Cobleskill-Richmondville pushed their record up to 6-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Schoharie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
