They came out on top against Fort Dale Academy by a score of 59-52. That's another feather in the cap for Bessemer Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Johnathan Winston was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jeran Jones, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Bessemer Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Fort Dale Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bessemer Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Springwood is ranked 94th, while the Rebels are ranked 79th). As for Fort Dale Academy, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Valiant Cross Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
