Ross hasn't had much luck against Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Little Giants will be taking part in a tournament against the Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m.
Ross is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Sandusky.

Braylon Schneider was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Breylen Garza was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Rich Jr, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Cardinal Stritch on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.
Tristan Headrick spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Central Catholic let Dre Wardrop and Josh Rahe run wild. Wardrop went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Rahe went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Rahe a new career-high. Preston Fryzel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Ross now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-17.
Ross couldn't quite get it done against Central Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 5-2. Can the Little Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
