This season hasn't been kind to the Baldwin Panthers, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mesick. Baldwin lost against Mesick in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-13 score last time.
Cassie Sexton was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. She also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kayla McCoy, who scored 11 points along with seven steals.
Baldwin's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.1 points per game. As for Mesick, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Baldwin will challenge Brethren at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mesick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Mesick's offense will have their work cut out for them.
