The Skyview Storm are taking a road trip to square off against the Mountain View Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Skyview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Skyview was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Kelso on Tuesday. Skyview put the hurt on Kelso with a sharp 11-3 win. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Hilanders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Reese Perdue spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audrey Jackson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lies, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, while it was Mountain View who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was Camas who put up more. Mountain View lost 19-4 to Camas. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Laila Reive was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Single, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Skyview's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Mountain View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Mountain View, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Skyview's sizable advantage in that area, Mountain View will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyview took their victory against Mountain View when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Skyview repeat their success, or does Mountain View has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
