Basketball Recap: Micah Strech's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson Ferry Christian Academy over the King's Academy

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against The King's Academy Knights on Monday, falling 74-53. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-75 last Thursday.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Strech, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points Strech has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Parker Henderson, who posted nine points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for The King's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-67 loss against Georgia Force Christian on the 23rd. As for The King's Academy, they will host Dominion Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The King's Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
