Douglas made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,775 from 7,218. The improvement was the result of 27-25 victory over Carson last week.
The Senators fell 27-25 to the Tigers in the closest game of the week. Garrett Schafer threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 11 yards in the loss.
Douglas' dynamic duo of Michael Nolting and Dustan Fisher proved tough for Blair Roman's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nolting threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns and Fisher had 77 yards receiving. AJ Pfaffenberger helped Douglas' passing attack out by catching four balls for 59 yards.
DANIEL GRAY made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bishop Manogue lost to Reno. The 6-foot-2 junior pulled down one interception.
Drew Smith was the most productive running back in I Northern - Sierra this week. He ran for 239 yards on 31 carries as Damonte Ranch bested the Senators. Jordan Waller also contributed to the rushing game with 18 yards on the ground.
The Tigers' Nolting and Fisher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Nolting has thrown for 2294 yards this season, while Fisher, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 64 catches for 1156 yards. The Mustangs' Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 1605.
Going into this week's game against Spanish Springs, the Miners' MJ FARTHING needs 136 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 26 touchdowns this year, FARTHING has thrown for 1864 yards with 11 interceptions.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of Bishop Manogue's FARTHING. He connected with GRAY on a 51-yard pass as the Miners lost to the Huskies.
