Wilber-Clatonia is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Auburn is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines will take on the Auburn Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Wilber-Clatonia can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 58-33 margin over David City. Wilber-Clatonia pushed the score to 43-22 by the end of the third, a deficit David City had little chance of recovering from.
Wilber-Clatonia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Kuhlmann out in front who scored 12 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Jameson Conway, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Auburn strolled past Cross County with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 68-50. Given Auburn's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Cross County is ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilber-Clatonia has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Auburn, their win bumped their record up to 21-0.
