The Aquinas Knights will head out to take on the Maplewood Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Aquinas' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They didn't even let East on the board, marking the Knights' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Jocelyn Powell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Powell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Annabelle Davies was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Jaida Mohr-Roberts was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Chalker typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Maplewood proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Rockets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Addison Marker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Claire Urchek, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.
Maplewood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-4 record this season. As for Aquinas, their record now sits at 2-16.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Aquinas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Maplewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
