The David Thibodaux Bulldogs will take on the Alexandria Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, David Thibodaux got the win against Westminster Christian Academy by a conclusive 16-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Justice Chambers and Amalie Harvison made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Chambers struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Harvison tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. At bat, Chambers went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Harvison scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Camri Jones and Kylie Dronet did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Dronet scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Ewing, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
David Thibodaux was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .133.
Meanwhile, Alexandria beat Southside 6-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.
The team relied heavily on Amiyah Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Addison Couvillon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Alexandria's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for David Thibodaux, their victory bumped their record up to 14-15.
David Thibodaux suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Alexandria in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
